Summer

August 12th, 2008 · No Comments

This summer is like no other summer I have ever had. It has been filled with excitement over the future and vacation.

Even though I tested well in my Pro-day and even after doing well with workouts with Professional teams, football has not been working out. Although, I think if I would of tried for another year to play Football I probably could get on a Arena Football team, Canadian team, or maybe even in the NFL, I have decided that I am going to apply myself in other areas. After all, I do have a degree in economics and experience with teams and people that can make me successful were ever I apply myself.

I was actually reading a book on my way from Florida, where I was on vacation last week, and it was talking about how we should not be afraid of failure, because with every failure becomes an equal or better opportunity. The reason that this is true is that every failure opens up other doors, gives us the opportunity to learn from our experiences, and motivates us that much more to achieve. With all of that said, I truly don’t think i failed at anything, I simply think that I am better off pursuing another career.

Anyway, lets talk about this summer and look at some sweet pics! =)

I started off the summer at my parents lake house at Clear Lake, California. Eventually my brother (Rob Sandie aka RobertSandie.com), his girlfriend (Dana Fish aka FISH), and my girlfriend (Jessica aka Beautiful) all actually came up to the lake all together, and we had quite an adventure coming up.

Winery pic Serious wine tasting The girls all of us

After wine tasting we went on a picnic where we had wine, stinky-man cheese, grapes , figs, and salami. The reason I call it stinky-man cheese is because, when we all went shopping for food for our picnic, my brother went to the person in charge of the cheese (yes, there is a person in charge of the cheese!) and told him “We want the stinkiest, manliest cheese you have.” Sure enough, the guy knew his cheese and gave us some cheese that smelled like straight body odor, not just any body odor either, the kind you get when you are done running 5 miles kind of body odor. It actually tasted pretty good when you got over the smell though. I thought it was hilarious that my brother asked for stinky-man cheese.

After the picnic we all decided to make a slight detour to Lake Berryessa to go bridge jumping off an 80 foot bridge into the Lake. We actually got video of it(bottom of page), and I think it explains itself.

Girls on intertube Menu Concert Jess and I at concert Blue Wing

We eventually made our way to the lake and had lots of fun for a week inter tubing, wake boarding, jet skiing, and fine dining.

The pictures are of a place in Upper Lake called the Blue Wing Cafe, which was excellent, especially there pesto baked brie. Another thing that we did is go to a Mighty Mighty Boss tones and Drop Kick Murhpey’s concert, lets just say that the music was good but the people there were a little bit off kilter. An example being, a punk rock chick with half of her head shaved, piercings everywhere, and to make it all that much weirder, she had a pet rat on her shoulder. Its to bad I don’t have a picture of that!

Cheers!

PS. I will post more on the Florida trip when I get the pics.
