Erik Sandie

My name is Erik Sandie and I am currently an aspiring football player. I just finished up my degree in Economics at Colorado State University. I also played football for the Colorado State Rams where I was on a full scholarship. I played football for four years for them and started for three of those years.

Football has been my passion since I was a little kid playing backyard football. I officially started playing football when I was 11 years old where I played Offensive and Defensive line for the San Ramon Thunder Birds for three years. After my football career with the T-birds I was fortunate enough to be accepted into De La Salle High-school.

My freshmen year I was brought up immediately from freshman to junior varsity where I started on offensive and defensive line. The following three years i would eventually start on both offensive and defensive line for the varsity team where my team became 3 back to back year national champions. I played with some people who are currently in the NFL such as Maurice Jones-Drew (Jacksonville), Derek Landri (Jacksonville), Matt Guitierrez (New England), Demetrius Williams (Baltimore), and DJ Williams (Denver).

After my high school career I was offered a full ride scholarship to schools such as Kansas State and Colorado State, I was also offered to a couple smaller schools, but after visiting beautiful Fort Collins, Colorado and meeting great coaches like Sonny Lubick, I knew that it was the path for me to go. I loved every minute of Colorado State both on and off the field, from the esteemed Economics department the University provided, all the way to walking on the football field before the game and being greeted by the cheers of 50,000 screaming fans.

Now I am embarking on a completely new journey in my life. For the first time I do not have a structured setting around me where people are telling me what to do or where to go, it is a more autonomous part of my life where I have the challenge of having to be self-motivated and determined to make it professionally in football.

With that all said, all of my chips arn’t stacked on football. I have a degree in Economics and a good understanding of the hi-tech world we live in. Most of my family works in this lucrative industry. My brilliant brother Robert Sandie III is president and founder a video sharing service called Viddler which makes it easy and simple to add context to your video through timed tags, timed comments, and even video replies. My father Robert Sandie II is in the hi-tech industry and specializes mainly in start up companies. My Grandfather Robert Sandie, is the anchor of my family, and he was one of the original workers of Sea-gate Hardware and before he retired he was the Vice President of the company.

I am currently dating a beautiful and intelligent woman by the name of Jessica Faerber, whom I have been dating for over 3 years. She currently is in medical school at the University of Colorado in Denver, Colorado.
